Millswood House

This beautiful old Gentleman's Bungalow was in desperate need of a renovation and transformation into contemporary living for a  young and growing family.

The brief called for restoration to the original dwelling, housing the bedrooms, kids playroom, bathrooms, study and access to the existing cellar. By removing the lean-to we were able to extend the house to provide an open plan living and dining space that opened onto a north facing outdoor deck, pool and grassed area. The indoor outdoor relationship was very important as the owners love to cook and entertain whilst keeping an eye on their young children. A butler's pantry is tucked in behind the kitchen to enable the kitchen space to stay tidy. A study nook is also concealed in the pantry space.

Rear access enabled a second more informal entry for friends and family with a mud room, laundry and powder room all within easy access from the Garage and Living spaces. Also important to the owners was the sense of arrival, so the Garage has a view of the outdoor area and pool on arrival.
