This beautiful estate has undergone numerous transformations over the years and was in desperate need of revitalisation to become a welcoming home for a growing family and their extended gatherings.
The house felt tired and dark, with a disorganised floor plan.
We began by conceptualising the removal of a dilapidated lookout from the roof, replacing it with a striking light well that floods the front foyer and adjoining rooms with much-needed natural light.
The floor plan has been reimagined to update the formal living and dining rooms, as well as the foyer. A master suite has been created within the existing structure, offering views of the beautifully restored front verandah, now featuring new tessellated tiles and curved slate edges.
A dedicated kids’ wing has been established, complete with a family bathroom and ensuites for each children’s bedroom. A new staircase leads to the kids' play area, which houses a lovely northern window with built-in bench seating and storage for toys.
Another staircase descends to the reconfigured cellar, which now accommodates a wine room and tasting area.
The informal living space has been transformed with a new kitchen, butler's pantry, and wine servery bar, seamlessly connecting to the formal dining room. This living area opens onto an outdoor terrace overlooking the newly landscaped backyard.
The backyard has been reimagined with a new tennis court, a resort-style pool and spa, and stunning gardens. The old garage has been converted into a three-car garage, complete with an attached pool house that features a guest bedroom, bathroom, pool kitchen, living area, and gym.
This home is perfectly positioned to accommodate the family's growth for many years ahead.
