This stunning Bungalow, a cherished heirloom, has been passed down through a generation, embodying a legacy of familial heritage while embracing the promise of future innovations.

 

Encased by a lush, well-established garden and a Heritage-listed Hedge, the property stands as an iconic corner approach, captivating the essence of time-honored elegance. 

 

The addition has been positioned to capture the northern light. A principal feature of the design brief was to engulf the Living area, which overlooks the existing pool, with the warmth and brightness of the sun. Nestled at a corner, the architectural transition from the original structure to the new additions has been meticulously curated to ensure a seamless blend that respects the historical integrity while introducing contemporary enhancements.

 

Internally, the redesign focused on optimizing space by reconfiguring the layout to reduce superfluous hallway areas, thereby expanding the utility of the central family bathroom and pantry. The integration of a double Garage via a side entrance, complemented by a pedestrian gate for visitors, introduces a practical yet elegant solution. These components are harmoniously linked to the main house through an outdoor Terrace area, which not only serves as a transitional space but also connects to a Mud Room. This room, adorned with views of the side hedge and garden, and the preserved old return verandah, offers an immediate juxtaposition of the historical and the contemporary upon arrival.

 

The extension encompasses a modern Kitchen, Dining, Living area, and Laundry, with the Dining and Living spaces thoughtfully partitioned by a central double fireplace. Concealed behind the Living area, the Laundry is accessible through a secret door, maintaining the aesthetic continuity of the space. Natural light floods the Living area through strategically placed high-level windows, creating a dynamic, luminous ambiance that enhances the overall living experience.
